I got to photograph five of the nicest guys you’ll ever want to meet. Together they are “Groove City Band” and they play regularly at the Muckelshoot Casino.  Some of them are based out of Albuquerque and we all agreed that the chile there is the best! Check out their webpage for details!

It’s always an honor when one artist chooses another to be of service. I was tickled when Kathy called and asked me to once again do her ‘headshot’ for her website.  I walk past her colorful home everytime I head to my studio.  It’s bright colors always make me smile.  Wish my yard looked like that!  Visit her site at: http://www.studiobythesound.com/

Paczki (punch-key) Day is the feast of plenty before the Lenten fast begins. The traditional deep fried pastries which are similar to  jelly doughnuts, are enjoyed throughout the world’s Polonias.  In Poland, Paczki Day takes place the Thursday before Ash Wednesday, called Tlusty Czwartek (Fat Thursday). In United States Polonia, Paczki Day takes place the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday, traditionally called Fat Tuesday in Carnival.

The Metropolitan Market celebrated the art of the Paczki, a traditional Polish treat that surfaces during the Lent/Easter season. They  held their first Paczki eating contest that proved to be an act of stuffing one’s self with the tasty treat to see who could eat the most! Here’s how it went down….

If you would like to make some yourself I found a recipe here: http://www.polamjournal.com/Library/Holidays/paczki/paczki.html

I had the  opportunity to work with Kimbra, a model who is building her portfolio. We decided to head to Pioneer Square to see what hip fashion spots we could find.  We both had fun!  If you would like to work on your modeling portfolio with gail ann, give me a call at 206-371-0585.

It’s a great feeling when one artist selects another artist to complete some work for them. I drive by Brace Point Pottery every day on my way to and from my own studio so it was a pleasure to be able to work with Loren. The assignment was to capture him in his studio ‘creating’ his art – pottery! It was fun to watch another artist comfortable at work while creating porcelain pottery pieces that are beautiful and functional. I hope you enjoy these images of him at his studio.  Be sure and visit www.LorenLukensPottery.com

I’m so excited! I’ve just been asked to hang my work for the month of January at Wild Rose’s Antiques in West Seattle. The official start is January 8th from 6-9pm during the West Seattle Art Walk.

I travel to Poland on a regular basis, finding hidden beauty in the things I photograph. Sometimes I am drawn to the same spot each and every time…sometimes I find new and delightful treasures. These interpretive digital images are my vision of Poland today.  Everything old is new again!
I invite you to stop by and enjoy the dramatic lines and composition of this very special place.

Be sure to stop by and see the polaroid transfers, canvas prints and jewelry!
